Good for crispy veg This works well if you want your veg to still have a bit of a crunch to them (which we do). I use it all the time with excellent results. It would not work so well if you want very soft veggies – using a microwave isn’t best for this because it will scald or make the veg rubbery if cooked on too high power for too long. Best to use a standard steamer. I see a lot of reviews complaining it gets hot. Steam is hot. Use oven gloves and take care. The reason I have rated only 4 stars – none of the…

Excellent dish cover for the microwave. As a steamer – well, I have decided I don’t like steamed food. However I use these inside the microwave as shrouds over dishes and bowls to restrict the amount of steam and spatter that gets onto the microwave itself, and as that they do an excellent job. Note that the large version of these has ears that stick out and might foul the walls of a small microwave when rotating. I took the ears off with a hacksaw so it will rotate in the smaller microwave.

Okay for people who are familiar with micro steamers It may be okay, but I can find very little information on its use as all cook books relate to hob or electric models. Sistema suggest just a few, printed in small red text with no pictures which is very uninspiring
