Zyliss mug poor inimtation of SmartCafe mug Many of the positive reviews appear to relate to the SmartCafe, which this Zyliss mug is definitely not.I have a Smartcafe mug at home and until recently one in work which have both served me well. However, the filter on the mug at work eventually broke after a few years of service and so I looked for a new one. Badly fitting plunger – mesh much too fine The whole point of a cafetiere is that after pressing down the plunger the coffee grounds should all be in one section and the coffee in the other. This mug fails to achieve this basic test of ability. The plunger is ill-fitting and badly sealed, so that one ends up drinking grounds and scalding one’s fingers on boiling hot coffee as it squirts up over the handle when the plunger is depressed. To me it’s probably the worst designed mug that I have (personally) ever come across. I have had more accidents with this cup than any other1) It is tapered at the bottom, on slippery surface means it tips easily (especially when you push the filter down) pouring hot coffee over your hand2) The lid is too shallow to get your lips over the hole easily, pouring hot coffee down your front3) You need to be extra careful that the lid on this one, its easy to not push it into place, properly and pour hot coffee down your front4) the Push down filter, will…
