Not bad, but could be improved This machine makes good coffee and I’m pleased with it. Some reviewers have commented on the water measure inside not being very clear, but this doesn’t bother me as I measure the amount of water needed in the glass jug and pour it in from that. However I do have a couple of gripes about it. I’ve tried the strength settings on all three options and to be honest I can’t see much …. if any …. difference in the strength of the coffee. I just leave mine on the strongest setting. The other gripe is the same as most reviews on here …… the length of time the hotplate stays on. Mine only stays on for 20 minutes. I was wary about turning the machine on again to restart the process as I thought it would damage the element with no water in the reservoir. I’ve found though that the machine senses there is no water and switches to hotplate mode quite quickly. I’ve even done it when a small amount of coffee has gone cold and it does heat it up again. In saying that it’s still a nuisance…
easy to use Neat coffee maker with simple instructions. Easy to fill with water and brews a good filter coffee.Downside, it doesn’t retain the heat in standby without remembering to press the ‘keep warm’ button, which lasts 25 min.On the coffee maker, the lid has twisted slightly after only a few uses, this stops the lid from clipping ‘shut’ without an extra push. Without this being sealed, steam escapes. The colour is rich and the glass jug is easy to pour.
IT’S GREAT The first coffee maker worked well but the clock did not keep time. I knew that I liked the item enough to exchange it for a perfect timekeeping one. It is very quiet and quick. Looks absolutely smart. My preference is to buy the correct cupcake type filter papers which is less messy. The step measurement inside the machine is not practical. However, a nice measuring jug at the ready solves that. I thank everyone which includes Morphy Richards in arranging for the lovely one I now have.
